Messy

Some nights a big mess at dinner time makes me crazy. I will try to clean up Claire after every couple of bites just to keep the final clean up to a minimum.  Last night Claire wasn't interested in eating unless she was feeding herself.  So we just went with it, mess and all!

And even though Claire is good at self feeding last night wasn't her best showing.  Way more of the food ended up on her or on the floor. Oh well, we'll just consider this meal fine motor practice.

  2. She is just so darn cute! Sutter is all about self feeding and I gave up cleaning mid-meal a long time ago! He stays in his pj's until he's done with breakfast and then gets stripped down in his high chair, after lunch he gets a change of clothes and after dinner we go right to the bath! It's messy now but it will get better and I think the self feeding is great OT practice! :)

  5. Claire is doing so well! Great job self feeding even if it's messy! Lucas still looks this way when we give him pasta. It's just not easy to eat with hands and not get messy.

She's getting so big! We have to plan a Colorado meet up this summer!

  10. Hey noodles are fun! Sometimes I feel like wearing them on my nose too! I think it is great that she is wanting to be more independent. Your baby is growing up.

  11. she looks super cute even with food all over her! whitney basically yells at us in her version of "by myself" "me do it" that she wants nothing to do w/ us helping to feed her... she wants to do it by her self and i guess claire feels the same way :) it is frustrating sometimes, isn't it, but also a good thing at the same time...
