Now John Michael eats Cheerios with milk and is pretty clean. We still use a bib to catch the occasional drips, but practice is what they need... And how about those teeth. Tily is still working on getting her top front ones in. Yah for the mess free that is always a nice thing. I can't get tily to eat out of or off of anything except her tray or else it goes straight to the flore so everything goes directly onto her tray. We have a while yet before we are mess free I'm afraid.Natalie Nelsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17850539490325223949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390107437127298472.post-79235433526228318212011-11-18T21:17:52.482-07:002011-11-18T21:17:52.482-07:00I so need to work on Zoey and this very thing. At least I am in good company with the mess issue though!Claire will catch on long before Zoey so I better let go and let her go at it!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04209967185741239050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390107437127298472.post-42082420008848012822011-11-18T21:03:55.580-07:002011-11-18T21:03:55.580-07:00Its so funny you posted this. Lucas is opposite, he is good at the spoon but needs help with the fork. I'm not a fan of messes either but we learned that Lucas likes to do everything himself too and will sometimes refuse to eat if we force it. So there is always, unfortunately, something in his hair ;)Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09879135187722664722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6390107437127298472.post-61079910657684598982011-11-18T14:51:09.636-07:002011-11-18T14:51:09.636-07:00Gotta love the independence at this age. It's messy but Sutter mastered his spoon skills with yogurt. I'd give him a scoop (about a tablespoon) in a bowl and let him practice before each meal while I prepared the rest of his meal. After a few days his scoop was much better and the amount that made it into his mouth was more than the amount on his shirt! Usually, LC was too distracted at loading her own spoon to mind when I would sneak in a bite with the one I was using. Claire is SUCH a big girl with her utensils!!! There is just something adorable about that sweet bowl of oatmeal and your little scruffy black-eyed bit behind it.
